The Yoga Retreat

The retreat is designed for anyone desiring to touch base with the self, practice daily yoga, learn to meditate improve core strength with Pilates, cleanse, detox and de-stress while enjoying a unique and relaxing Byron Bay experience. The retreats attract a wide range of people from total beginners to more experienced practitioners. All levels are welcome and catered for.

We provide plenty of individual attention and assistance to provide extra support during classes particularly if you have any injuries or special needs.  It's all about your own personal yoga and doing what is appropriate for your body and needs at the time. The classes are taught in a safe and practical way using props intermittently to help open the body as well as some vinyasa style yoga to warm up and cleanse the body of toxins. The style of yoga is designed for all levels of experience with age, health and lifestyle fully considered.

Check in and check out times:
Arrival time is from 2.00pm onwards to settle into your accommodation, enjoy a refreshing swim in the ocean or just relax in your hammock.  We meet  at 3.30pm for an informal introduction and yoga class. Check out time on the last day is 10am from your cabin and  close of retreat is 11.30am. Transport and direction details will be sent to you at time of registration.

Daily Schedule:

6.45am -9am- Meditation and Yoga
9am -10am Breakfast
Free time    - Optional healing treatments
1pm-2pm Lunch
Free Time
4.30-6pm Restorative Yoga/Yoga Nidra
6.30pm Dinner
Selected talk or activity some evenings.

*Some days will have extra activities and a detailed schedule will be sent to you before retreat begins.

Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Teachers
The retreat is run by Senior Qualified Yoga Instructor Sue Hawkins who has been practicing for over 26 years and is the founder and director of Byron Bay Yoga Retreats. Sue has instructed on teacher trainings, workshops and runs retreats regularly in Byron Bay, Australia and internationally. 

Judy Leane is a Qualified Senior Pilates Instructor, a physiotherapist and an exercise scientist as well as a personal trainer. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share on the retreat. The fusion of Yoga and Pilates gives tremendous body awareness of core strength and stability.

Josie Cain Yoga Assist/Co-ordinator: Is an experienced Yoga and Pilates instructor. Josie assists students during all yoga sessions offering support and guidance to each individual. Her skills also include co-ordinating and scheduling retreat activities.

Grant Hawkins - Reiki/Intutitive Healing sessions
Grant has been doing Intuitive Readings for many years following Reiki Training Levels 1 and 2  as as practicing yoga and meditation for many years. He has a natural ability to tune into each individual in a profound and healing way. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Activities:
Range from catching a breathtaking sunrise along Tallow Beach, surfing, optional kayaking, cycling on the bike trails through the rain forest, tennis or simply relaxing and soaking up the serenity of the environment.

Remedial Massage $95 per 75mins.

Byron Bay Yoga Retreat Cancellation Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to secure your place. This deposit will form part of your final payment which is payable 1 month before retreat begins. Retreats can be swapped at the discretion of Byron Bay Yoga within the year.

We provide a nurturing and safe environment and all care and responsibility is taken throughout the retreat to each participants but, no responsibility will be taken for any injuries incurred during retreat. Medical history forms are to be completed before retreat and if you are unsure of your ability due to previous injuries please see your doctor beforehand. Modifications are given to students with special needs.
